NO FAIL PISTOL

2-DAY COURSE  |  Intermediate to Advanced  |  COST: Varies by location

The Presscheck No-Fail Pistol Course is designed to equip patrol and tactical officers with the skills to make high risk / high reward pistol shots in critical situations.

This 18-hour course stresses the importance of being able to place accurate hits on small, moving, and limited exposure critical areas of the human body to instantly cease all motor function or cause rapid unconsciousness, usually resulting in death.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  • Come to this course knowing how to shoot. This is an intermediate to advanced level course.

  • General refresher on the basic fundamentals of gun handling and marksmanship.

  • Zeroing/confirming zero on all optics and lasers (and iron sights if needed).

  • Analysis of individual shooting techniques of students/officers by the trainer with personal feedback on ways to improve accuracy and speed.

  • Engagement of low-percentage targets - small strike area often obscured with a hostage or other no-shoot area.

  • Shooting multiple targets

  • Shooting on the move, if class progression allows.

  • Competitive shooting drills around your peers to build esprit de corps and create self-induced stress to perform.

  • The student will understand the importance of critical hits and the consequences of a miss, and will be able to diagnose if they are capable of achieving hits at any given moment based upon pre-shot diagnostics of their sights in real-time.

  • This course will enable students to continue developing and maintaining these skills through the use of clear, repeatable standards.

  • The students should leave the course with a firm understanding of their personal capability to make low-percentage “No-Fail” shots.

NOTE: Students are individually responsible for receiving approval PRIOR to paying for enrollment on government ranges. NO REFUNDS will be authorized for failing to confirm these vetting procedures.

NO FAIL RIFLE

2-DAY COURSE  |  Intermediate  |  COST: Varies by location

The Presscheck Intermediate Assault Rifle Course ("No Fail Rifle") is designed to equip patrol and tactical officers with the skills to apply accurate rifle fire in critical situations at varying distances and from various positions.

This 20-hour course stresses the importance of applying offset and holds at various distances and angles to ensure proper point of impact. Varying techniques of supporting the rifle to mitigate recoil and stabilize the reticle for proper shot placement will be used.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  • Provide comprehensive safety briefing discussing the practical application of the 4 firearms safety rules in the real world.

  • Definition reviews of Internal, External, and Terminal ballistics, including 100, 200, and 300 yard zero.

  • Zeroing/confirming zero on all sights.

  • Drills used to demonstrate POI deviation when cant is applied to the rifle.

  • Analysis of individual shooting techniques of students/officers by the trainer with individual feedback on ways to improve accuracy and speed.

  • Engagement of low-percentage targets (small strike area often obscured with a hostage or other no-shoot area) from various distances while applying proper hold offs.

  • Shooting moving targets while applying leads, if class progression allows.

  • Shooting on the move, if class progression allows.

  • The student will understand the importance of critical hits and the consequences of a miss, and will be able to diagnose if they are capable of achieving hits at any given moment based upon pre-shot diagnostics of their sights in real time, the hold-off of their reticle based on target distance, body position, and cant of the weapon.

  • This course will enable students to continue developing and maintaining these skills through the use of clear, repeatable standards.

NIGHT FIGHTER RIFLE/PISTOL

2-DAY COURSE  |  Intermediate  |  COST: Varies by location

The Night Fighter Rifle/Pistol Course is comprised of approximately 9-10 hours of daylight training/classroom instruction and 8-9 hours of low-light and night vision training.

This is an intermediate level course and all students are expected to arrive with a sound grasp of firearms safety as well as the operation of their primary and secondary weapons systems.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

  • History and theory of modern electro-optic Near IR and Thermal night vision imagers.

  • Zeroing techniques of day optics and laser pointers/illuminators. Converging vs parallel zeroing

  • Various body positions for weapons employment under night vision

  • Understanding how ambient external lighting conditions affect night vision performance

  • Use of NIR energy to assist in target acquisition and discrimination

  • Brief daylight rifle and pistol marksmanship fundamentals review

  • Rifle to pistol transition techniques in low-light/no-light

  • Reloading, holstering, and malfunction clearance by tactile feel only

SHOOTHOUSE OPERATIONS & SAFETY

3-DAY COURSE  |  Intermediate  |  COST: Varies by location

First and foremost the course is structured to focus on HOW to set up and conduct unopposed CQB training in either live fire or Sims/UTM on paper in either shoot houses or actual structures. The course uses the vessel of CQB 101 level instruction to show students how to prepare a run and “cock the house”.  The entire POI is geared around why the training area is set up a certain way and how it safely supports the training objectives.

Elements of shoot house prep covered include:

  • Floor plan design and route of the CQB run

  •  Administrative and safety marking of off-limits areas

  •  Accountability of individuals inside the training area

  •  Target placement considerations (to force decision points, as well as for safety purposes)

  •  Target selection (type of construction, size, threat, critical scorable area exposure, etc).

  •  Use and type of target stands/hangers

  •  Safety/cease fire control measures and signals

  •  Conduct and content of safety briefings

Setting up a CQB training run is pretty useless if there is not CQB training happening, so all students will rotate through the house as team members in addition to having opportunities to observe others, act as a safety, and provide AAR comments to others training runs.  The course flow maximizes student time by alternating between doing the training and facilitating the training of others.  The rotation from student to observer/safety provides for a better understanding of the concepts being taught, even if the student will never be an instructor.

Enlisting the student body in the training process provides more sets of eyes and makes for a more in-depth AAR process than if only the PI and AI’s were observers/safeties.

This is NOT a CQB instructor course, the intent is not to make someone knowledgeable enough to teach specific CQB tactics, but rather how the CQB run, targets, shot accountability and AAR all support the training objectives regardless of what tactics are being taught.

Desired Endstate:

Students with a trainer/instructor background for their agency will leave with additional tools and perspectives about HOW to use Livefire/Sims on paper targets to support the tactics and CQB training that they already conduct.

Students attending for 101 level assaulter training will have additional exposure to the tactics taught during the course by getting to see how and why each run was set up the way that it was, observe other classmates’ runs through the house, be present for AARs of other teams, and observe mistakes and help other students by providing feedback during the AAR as necessary.

This class is a total of 30 hours over 3 days.
